NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 07: Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson speaks onstage during the Power Series Finale Episode Screening at Paley Center on February 07, 2020 in New York City.

As we previously reported, Halle Berry recently backed out of playing a transgender man in an upcoming film after facing backlash, and now 50 Cent has commented on the actress’ decision.

“You wanted to do what? Why?” the rapper said of Halle Berry’s recent choice. “Oh my God, so if you still think your beautiful I’m gay as a MF.”

“No. Next idea lol,” 50 Cent said. Berry took to social media on Monday (July 6) to announce that she would no longer be taking the role.

“Over the weekend I had the opportunity to discuss my consideration of an upcoming role as a transgender man, and I’d like to apologize for those remarks,” Berry said in a statement that was shared to Twitter and her Instagram story.

“As a cisgender woman, I now understand that I should not have considered this role, and that the transgender community should undeniably have the opportunity to tell their own stories.”

“I am grateful for the guidance and critical conversation over the past few days and I will continue to listen, educate, and learn from this mistake,” Berry continued.

“I vow to be an ally in using my voice to promote better representation on-screen, both in front of and behind the camera.”
