LANDS END, UNITED KINGDOM – OCTOBER 10: The sky over Lands End darkens after the sun has set October 10, 2009 in Cornwall, England. England, particularly in the south, is currently enjoying a spell of dry, fine weather, allowing the begining of the Autumn foliage colours – brought on by shortening daylight hours and cooler weather – to be fully appreciated. Well if you are, this weekend you will definitely want to get out to watch the sunset. Apparently a massive Saharan Desert dust cloud is expected to pass over North Carolina this weekend; this could cause some extra beautiful sunsets.
While the dust cloud passed annually, this year is special; this will be the highest concentration of particles observed in the past 50 to 60 years. What that means for us in the Carolinas is that we could see some extra dramatic red skies.
So get those phones ready for some seriously Instagram-able sunset photos this weekend! I do want to add, there is a health recommendation for anyone who has asthma or respiratory issues to stay indoors due to the dust particles. Please use your best discretion.
