A north Charlotte block party has ended in gunfire.
A medic unit was called to the scene of a person hit by a car shortly after midnight, then gunfire started. Video of the scene shows the large group running for cover. Charlotte police say two were left dead and multiple taken to the hospital with gunshots.
At least five others were hurt as they were struck by cars while trying to flee the scene. Authorities haven’t said if arrests were made and not other details released.
In video taken at the scene and shared on social media, you can hear several rounds of shooting as people run.
