CPI Security CEO Under Fire After Email Surfaces
Two weeks ago, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man died in Minneapolis after a white police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on the street. In the past two weeks, there have been protests in all 50 states and a lot of companies are taking the time to restructure to make sure they are anti-racist, and diverse enough to support POC.
All Beasley Media Group stations took the time to let our listeners know that we do not stand for any type of racism or hate here.
So while a lot of companies are doing positive things, the CEO of CPI Security is under scrutiny after an email he sent was leaked to the public. On Instagram, CPI wrote…
But in private, he wrote:
CPI Security CEO Kenneth Gill is under fire after sending this email obtained by @wcnc. It was sent in response to a call to action by Queen City Unity to end police brutality. Gill released this apology and I'm told several employees resigned today. Details at 11. pic.twitter.com/NYmlcyW40B

CEO Kenneth Gill has since then took to Instagram to apologize:

Charlotte’s two professional sports franchises (Carolina Panthers & Charlotte Hornets) and two universities have canceled their partnerships. The cancellations seem to just keep coming.
