George Floyd will be remembered in several public memorials this week. His funeral is scheduled for next week in Houston, which former boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has offered to pay for. Houston is where he grew up. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and Floyd’s family have arranged a public viewing and memorial. Floyd was 46 when he died in police custody last week.

Floyd was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and there will be a service for him about 25 miles west of there, in Raeford, where is sister lives.

The service will take place this weekend at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters, 10225 Fayetteville Road in Raeford. There is a public viewing from 11am to 1pm, followed by a private, family-only service.
