Restaurants are making plans for reopening their dining rooms and many Americans are ready. But when that time comes, things may look a little different at their favorite fast food chains. José Cil, CEO of Restaurant Brands International, which owns Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons, has shared some of the changes diners can expect in the future.
Cil outlines some of the new safety measures for employees and customers:
- They’ll be doing daily temperature checks for all employees at the beginning of their shifts.
- Workers will wear masks and gloves.
- Self-serve soda machines have been turned off and customers will get drinks, extra condiments, and trays from behind the counter.
- Tables and chairs will be sanitized after each use.
- Hand sanitizer will be available for guests in the dining room.
- There will be a “safe distance” rule in the dining rooms, with tabletop signs indicating which tables are open and which are reserved to help maintain safe distances.
“One of the most normal things in our lives is coming together, and that often includes sitting down with your family or friends and enjoying a meal together at a restaurant.” writes Cil. “We are working very hard to continue to build your confidence in the measures we are taking to keep you safe in our restaurants.”
