This is a bummer for sure.

The Carolina Hurricanes will be cutting ties with the Charlotte Checkers and moving their AHL affiliation to the Chicago Wolves. This is according to an official Carolina Hurricanes report and will be ending a decade-long relationship.

As far as the Charlotte Checkers, they have stated: “We will explore other options for our affiliation and look forward to continuing in the American Hockey League when play resumes.” I am a BIG Carolina Hurricanes fan, but I am sad to see this partnership end. I will still be attending my Hurricanes games for sure and hope I get on the jumbotron again…
