After much speculation, Clarence House today announced the engagement of Prince William to Kate Middleton. An engagement ring is definitely something that holds a lot of meaning to a woman, and while a guy doesn’t necessarily have to spend an arm and a leg to show their love, one woman is not happy that her man didn’t spend enough, and she may have a valid argument.

The gal shares on Reddit that she and her fiancé got engaged two weeks ago and at first she was excited by her “forever ring,” until she discovered it was an $80 ring her man got from Pandora. "I want to start this off by saying I’m not a gold digger,” she shares, insisting she would have said yes with no ring at all.

However, after realizing the ring wasn’t heavy at all she decided to Google it and discovered where her guy got it from.

"I won’t lie, I’m upset but not because of the money,” she explains. “It’s because my initial thought was that the ring won’t last and I feel a little lied too.

No, this was not meant to be a place holder ring. He meant to give me this as my forever ring that I wear for 40+ years."

She says she confronted her fiancé about the ring, and her concerns over it “tarnishing” but he said if she isn’t upset over the money she has nothing to worry about. She eventually dropped the issue, until she noticed the metal on the ring becoming dull, and he blamed her for not treating it well.

The post garnered quite a reaction from folks on the Internet, receiving more than 1,500 comments, with many suggesting the whole thing is a “red flag” and she should end the relationship.
