People seem to be finding one way to get through this pandemic; alcohol.
The Coronavirus pandemic is affecting millions of American’s in many ways. Sales in many industries are down, but one industry is actually doing well; alcohol. Sales of alcoholic beverages in the U.S. rose 55 percent in the week ending March 21, according to Nielsen data.
To break it down, even more, spirits and pre-mixed cocktails were up 75% in sales. Beer sales were up 42% and wine rose 66%. With a stay home order placed in effect in North Carolina until the end of April, I can only see those numbers going up.
The only thing I would recommend is to look into local breweries that are offering curbside service. Our local business are struggling and anything we can do so helps them, they need right now. So instead of a domestic beer, pick up a six-pack from your favorite brewery.
