‘Tiger King’s’ Doc Antle Was On The Stage For Britney Spears 2001 VMA Performance
Netflix’s new docuseries Tiger King is so outrageous that it’s hard to believe that the characters featured in it are real people with real lives and jobs – but they are. And one of the men featured in that show was already doing big things before it came to be. Wildlife enthusiast Doc Antle is one of those people.
Us Weekly explains that Doc was on stage with Britney Spears during her infamous “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance at the 2001 VMAs. If you look closely, he was the tiger handler in the cage behind her as she performed.” Sadly, in 2016 Doc Antle told MTV that the tiger from that performance passed away.

There is also a rumor going around that Carole Baskin was seated next to Britney at the 2002 VMAs, but it appears to be just a look alike.
