We’re all trying to eat a little healthier these days.  But how can we cut back on some of the not so healthy stuff without sacrificing flavor?  Simple…we use Dash salt-free seasoning blends to make our favorite dishes even better.  Formerly known as Mrs. Dash, now simply “Dash,”there are so many seasoning blends and marinades to choose from, I’m certain you’ll never miss the salt!  Today we are making one of our favorite sides perfect for any meal.  It’s Chipotle Cornbread using Dash Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend.   I picked it up in the spice aisle at my local grocery store.



1 T. canned green chiles, drained and chopped

1/2 c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 T. Dash Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend

1/2 c. yellow cornmeal

1 c. cream-style corn

1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened

2 tsp. baking powder

2 eggs

1/3 c. sugar

1/2 c. all-purpose flour


Beat together butter and sugar in large bowl.  Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.  Fold in creamed corn, chiles and cheese.  Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and Southwest Chipotle Seasoning in another bowl.  Add flour mixture to corn mixture.  Stir unitl smooth.  Pour batter into a lightly greased or sprayed 8×8 inch baking pan.  Bake in 325 degree preheated oven 40-45 minutes or until tootpick inserted near center comes out clean.
