The 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards went down last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with Billie Eilish the big winner, nabbing five trophies in total. However, you know what I am really tuned in for is fashion. If you follow me on Instagram you know I usually “live story” during the red carpets leading up to the award shows.
Some of my favorites last night were Gwen Stafani, Bebe Rexha, and Demi Lavado. I also loved Billy Porter’s curtain hat, Lizzo’s entire wardrobe (she changed 3 times) and Danielle Jonas’s sexy silver gown.
Gwen Stefani: I love alliteration and as soon as Gwen said I’m wearing shells because I’m here with Blake Shelton I was in love! I love the silhouette of this shell encrusted Dolce and Gabbana cocktail dress and I think the rockstar boots were a home run for the Grammys.
Bebe Rexha: Powerful. Sexy. Chic. I love a good pantsuit and even Bebe said: ” I feel powerful in a suit” that’s why she co-designed this look for the Grammys with designer Christian Cohen. The nude under lace top was a nice touch. I mean who doesn’t want to be half-naked with crystals gleaming off their body?
Demi Lovato: Here is the comeback kid! Demi looked amazing as she performed her new song “Anyone” during the Grammys. The song was written just days before her overdose in the summer of 2018. She wore a simple long sleeve Christian Siriano gown that made her look like a princess.
Priyanka Chopra: This one hurts me for multiple reasons. One, I LOVE her. And two, I typically love the designer she wore, but this Ralph & Russo was a no for me. I think it had more to do with the fit of the gown but I thought it made her look sloppy. It gave her no shape what so ever and it made her “girls” look saggy.
Chrissy Teigan: Another star that I love but I was on the fence with how I felt about her dress. As a stand-alone, I loved the color and couture feel of this Yanina Couture gown, but I think the enormous sleeves were a little too much dress for her. They were so big that she had a hard time posing with her husband John Legend for photos. Thus, if she had been on the carpet by herself I feel like I probably would have loved this look but I thought she looked awkward and stiff with her partner.
Billie Eilish: Now, I typically don’t understand anything this girl puts on but I do respect her as an artist. She has an individual style all of her own and although I give her points for wearing Gucci, I’m not quite sure what was strapped under her chin last night. I had to do a lot of digging to figure out that the hammock around her neck was, in fact, a mask. Was she trying not to get the Coronavirus? I just don’t get it.
