I, like many people this weekend, RUSHED to get my Christmas tree. Thanksgiving was so late this year that we don’t even have four weeks before Christmas so my roommate and I decided we wanted to get our tree up as soon as possible.
Sunday night, we went to get our tree. Our first mistake was not bringing our stand to the Christmas Tree lot so the workers could put it on for us.
No biggie! I’m a strong, independent woman, and I can TOTALLY get the tree in the stand by myself like I have in previous years.
We get home. I assemble our tree stand, and when we try to put the tree in it, we notice…. uh oh. The stump of the tree is way too wide for our stand.
What follows is a good HOUR of me trying to use a handheld saw to chip away at the tree stump so that it will fit in the stand.
We give it one more good try and…. NOPE. The tree still doesn’t fit. So currently our tree is just leaning against our wall in the apartment until I can get a bigger tree stand.
Moral of the story: BRING YOUR TREE STAND WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO TREE SHOPPING!
