The project has an almost $130 MILLION dollar budget.
Here are the details about the renovations:
"The 550,000-square-foot building includes 280,000 square feet of exhibit space as well as ballrooms, meeting rooms and other space. Renovations will allow for subdividing one of the main ballrooms into four 7,700-square-foot areas while expansion will add 26,000 square feet of new meeting rooms and 24,000 square feet of reception and pre-event space. A pedestrian bridge is also part of the plans."
With the RNC coming up in Charlotte next year, this expansion isn't too big of a surprise to me. I hope this means there will be more cool local events held there though!
