If you have ever picked up someone from the Charlotte Douglas International airport you know how little space there is for so many vehicles. The good news is that changes are coming to the airport on Thursday, October 31st. Five lower-level lanes will open to the public in hopes to clear up congestion in pick up areas. Previously, rideshare apps had been instructed to pick up their passengers upstairs at the departure area. Now rideshare drivers will be able to pick up downstairs in arrivals with their own lane.

This traffic change is part of the ongoing project, Destination Charlotte, geared to enhance and grow our airport.
