All three of the men who were arrested in connection with Mac Miller’s death have been indicted. TMZ reports that a grand jury handled the indictments of Stephen Walter, Cameron Pettit, and Ryan Reavis today in a California federal court. Prosecuters are claiming that instead of getting oxycodone as he requested, Mac Miller received counterfeit pills that contained fentanyl.

TMZ explains, “Feds say the deal went down like this: Mac ordered from Pettit, Pettit ordered from Walter, and Reavis was the mule, delivering the drugs from Walter to Pettit.”

All three men are charged with the same crime: conspiracy to distribute substances resulting in death, and distribution to fentanyl resulting in death. The mandatory minimum sentence for these crimes is 20 years; the max is life without parole.

Additionally, Walter will be charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition. There is an additional ten years in prison for that alone.

TMZ also adds that “fentanyl is now the number one cause of overdose deaths in the United States.”
