The joy of motherhood is a sweet feeling every woman wishes to have. That moment when you hear the cry of your baby when you're in the labor room is the best. Truth be told, motherhood is not all fab, and picture-perfect, there are days you'd just want to pull out your hair, but there are also great days where you feel like you can take on the world.
A survey conducted by Welch's revealed that the work an average mom does to take care of her child(ren) is equivalent to working on two-and-a-half full-time jobs. The survey goes further to reveal that an average mom starts her day at 6:23 am and works non-stop until 8:31pm, which is really hectic as well as tiring.
That is why moms deserve a break too, but we’re not talking about a solo vacation (at least once your kids are older). According to research from Harvard Medical School, mother-daughter trips taken once a year can help relieve stress, improve immune responses and decrease the chances of heart disease. Essentially, it shows similar benefits to a full night’s sleep and a healthy diet.
Barack Obama once said "Mothers are the rocks of our families and a foundation in our communities.” Thus, next time your planning getaways think about getting away with you Momma. She deserves it and it will be great bonding time for the two of you! A few years ago I took my mom to see NYC for the first time and we had a blast! Since that trip we have been closer than ever.
