Although Kate Spade was completely detached from her brand at the time of her death, sales have surged because of fans nostalgia. Thus the Kate Spade brand lives on and this year it was the hot show at NYFW, and with good reason! They strayed away from “models” this year and highlighted influencers.
The Kate Spade New York’s spring 2020 show held at the Elizabeth Street Garden, made me feel the urge to wear a vibrant floral dress and plant some houseplants in my yard.
The show ignited an atmosphere of ease mostly because the models were not just the regular runway models but influencers and everyday women. Some notable women who graced the runway were Reese and Molly Blustein, Debi Mazar and her daughter Evalina, and Karen Elson, amongst other incredible women.
The Kate Spade New York’s Spring Collection Featured a variety of ditsy floras, prints, safari-ready greens, and crocheted details for women of all sizes, shapes, and ages. The brand designer, Nicola Glass said that she got inspiration by what she calls “city safari”.
At the end of the day, the show was the talk of the town because it was unique and relatable.
