Billboard Magazine gathered some of the best LQBTQ artists together for their Pride Roundtable and August 10 cover.

Singer and actor Adam Lambert, bounce music queen Big Freedia, rapper and singer iLoveMokonnen, singer Hayley Kiyoko, and Tegan Quin of the pop group Tegan and Sara all cover Billboard’s Pride issue.

They also all sat down for a Pride Roundtable interview to discuss their professional journeys, how the world is changing, and even Lil Nas X.

When discussing the beginning of his career, Lambert explains that it wasn’t easy being a gay artist. “I was really overwhelmed in the beginning. American Idol was so fast. All of a sudden I was on magazine covers. I was dealing with the personal adjustment I had to make, and then on top of it, there was all this energy behind being the gay guy doing it.”

He adds, “I knew I was comfortable saying, ‘Yes, I’m gay.’ But educating the masses? I didn’t get into this business to be an educator. I just wanted to wear glitter and sing.”

On the subject of Lil Nas X coming out, Adam states that “the world is changing, especially in the United States. We’re moving forward, and that is direct evidence. But also it helps that he had a No.1 song. I feel like it gave him the confidence to be like, ‘I can do whatever the heck I want!”

Billboard also released video of the roundtable. Check it out below.
