There are bad people in the world...and then there are good people.

Ruben Martinez is an 11-year-old boy who lives in El Paso, Texas. Him and his mom shopped at the Walmart the day before the pass shooting there killed 22 people. After the devastating news broke, he became scared and anxious to leave the house but his mom encouraged kindness and to think of something that could help the community.

That's when he came up with the #ElPasoChallenge .

The sixth grader is now encouraging people to do 22 acts of kindness in memory of the 22 victims of the shooting. He started the challenge himself by bringing Taco Bell to feed first-responders.

"I want to show people that El Pasoans are good," he explains. "They're loving and are caring and are willing to do anything to help out."

Even though we are in North Carolina we can continue the challenge. We encourage you today to display an act of kindness. In memory of all victims lost due to gun violence.
