This is definitely a headline we never thought we would read or write about.
There’s no denying that there’s a crisis happening in our country right now. With two very deadly mass shootings over the weekend, a lot of people are fed up with “thoughts & prayers” posts on social media and are demanding policy and change.
Some change that has happened is how some companies are making their backpacks.
Guard Dog Security has made a bullet resistant backpack and while they used to only sell online, some Office Max and Office Depot stores in North Texas are selling them in-store. The backpacks run between $120-$200.
The founder of the backpacks says he wants the backpacks to make parents and students be prepared rather than scared.
A label on the products says it can stop a bullet from a .44 Magnum handgun but it won’t stop a high-velocity rifle.
Would you ever purchase one of these? How would you explain it to your kids? Feel free to tweet us @theMRLshow
