The Lambily better clear their schedules. On Sept. 24, Mariah Carey is dropping a new song, but it’s one you’ll have to watch TV to hear. That’s because Carey sings the theme song for the Black-ish spinoff, Mixed-ish

On Monday (Aug. 5), Carey announced she not only sings the Mixed-ish theme, but wrote and produced the song appropriately titled “In The Mix.” “Dear Kenya Barris, ABC, and the mixed-ish family, this is a dream come true,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m so thankful this show exists and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of it.”

Mixed-ish is focused on Tracee Ellis Ross’s black-ish character Rainbow growing up mixed race in the ’80s after moving from a hippie commune to the suburbs. It’s something Carey can relate to since she is of mixed race, herself. It’s why she wanted to be a part of the sitcom from Barris.

“As a biracial woman in the entertainment industry, there was no way I did not want to be a part of Mixed-ish, especially after seeing the pilot, which I loved,” Carey said in a statement, per Vulture. “I could not be more honored and proud to be writing and performing ‘In the Mix’ for Kenya and the show.”

Mixed-ish stars Arica Himmel as young Bow, with Tika Sumpter and Saved By The Bell‘s Mark-Paul Gosselaar playing her parents.
