Sunburn happens to the best of us, and obviously, the answer is to wear sunscreen but it goes a bit deeper than that. Novant Health just released 6 of the best tips to help you protect your skin.

Tips To Avoid Sunburn:

  • Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before exposure

  • Reapply every 90 minutes to 2 hours

  • If you sweat or get in the water, you'll have to reapply more frequently

  • Don't forget your lips! Wear chapstick with SPF in it while out in the sun

  • Buy new sunscreen at the beginning of every new season. Sunscreen does have expiration dates!
