Don't get drunk and text your ex!
This could really work for any gender no matter who you're dating. The point is...don't text your ex. No matter how it ended, I get it...it gets hard. As many of you know I recently just got out of a four year relationship so when it comes to cutting off communication...it's hard. BUT! You've got to stay strong and do what's best for yourself. You never want to seem bitter and it's always important to remain on good terms but that doesn't mean just texting them whenever you'd like.
Straight from a women's lifestyle magazine, I've got some good guidelines for you to follow when it comes to reasons why you should text your ex:
- Regarding a medical issue
- If you keep getting their mail
- If you want to wish him a happy birthday (but leave it at that)
- If they deserve congratulations on big milestones
- If you have a question about one of their areas of expertise
- Texts about his family are generally cool (especially if you guys were together long term)
- If you have a job lead (or think they might)
- If you want to apologize
