It was the first time since 2000 that the Macy's display took place over the Hudson River and not the East River.

Looking for something to do this 4th of July or a place to watch fireworks? Here are things to do in Charlotte and the surrounding areas this Thursday and places that will have fireworks!

As a Waxhaw native along with Maney, if you live around the area or want a place to go on the 4th of July, there will be a parade at 10 am along with Dream Catchers Brewery hosting a block party! At 115 E North Main Street in Waxhaw. The block party begins at 1 pm after the parade in the morning with local vendors, bounce houses, outdoor games, live music, and food trucks!

If you love the lake, Lake Norman will be having fireworks around 9:30 pm at Trump National Golf Club and fireworks can be seen by the lake.

Mooresville will have an event on Wednesday at Lowes YMCA at 170 Joe Knox Avenue. There will also be a festival from 6-10 pm with fireworks around 10 pm and Statesville will have a fireworks display around 9:30 pm at the Signal Hill Road area.

In Uptown Charlotte, there will be fireworks around 9:30 pm at BB&T Ballpark, following the Charlotte Knights’ sold-out game against Norfolk. The display will be visible from nearby Romare Bearden Park. If you can find tickets for Thursday’s game, it will be a great game!

Carowinds will also have fireworks around 9:30 pm on Thursday and Friday. Plan a day trip with your family and experience all the fun Carowinds has to offer plus fireworks!

There will be a parade in Davidson around 5:15 pm in the downtown area with live music from 6-9 pm on the town green. If you want to have a chill night with live music with your family, this is the place for you.

Hickory Grove will have their annual parade at 10 am, along Shamrock Drive from Lawrence Orr Elementary to Aldersgate. There will also be a Festival from 11:30 am-3 pm at Aldersgate. If you’re having a barbecue at night but still want to go out and do something, head over to Hickory Grove!

Pig-picking at Plaza Midwood from 4-11 pm, at several sites along Central Avenue with live music outside the Diamond. Head over to 1901 Commonwealth Avenue.

If you’re a biker or into biking, Huntersville will have a Bicycle parade at 10 am with children events from 10 am-1 pm at Birkdale Village. 8712 Lindholm Drive.

Matthews is having a People’s parade at 5:30 from town hall to Stumptown Park followed by live music and other events at 7 pm in Stumptown Park. Perfect for family and friends to hang out and get out of the house.

Charlotte Symphony will have a concert at 7 pm on Wednesday followed by fireworks around 9:15 pm in Southpark.

U.S. National Whitewater Center will have live music from 5-9 pm on Wednesday and Thursday followed by fireworks around 9:30 pm each night.

There is an annual town festival in Harrisburg from 4-10 pm on Wednesday and 4-11 pm on Thursday. There will also be a parade at 9 am on Thursday and fireworks around 10 pm at the town park. If you already have somewhere to go on Thursday, check out the festival on Wednesday!

Kannapolis will have fireworks following the 7 pm Kannapolis Intimidators’ game against the Rome Braves at Intimidators Stadium off of Moose Road. 2888 Moose Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083

Gastonia will have fireworks Wednesday following 7 pm Gastonia Grizzlies’ game at Sims Legion park and will have a Festival Thursday from 5-9 pm in the downtown area with fireworks around 9:30 pm.

Indian Trail will have their parade at 11:30 am on Indian Trail Road in the downtown area. Monroe will have their Festival from 4:30-10 pm with fireworks around 9:30 pm at Belk Tonawanda Park. Go to the parade in the morning and head over to Monroe for a festival and fireworks!

Red, White, and Boom festival in Rock Hill on Wednesday from 5:30-10 pm with fireworks around 9:30 pm.

Camp Thunderbird fans, there will be fireworks around 9:30 so go spend the day at Lake Wylie and end it with fireworks!

There are so many local places to head over to this 4th of July. So many different options from live music to baseball games so make sure you get out and have fun at one of your local events!
