Celebrating 4th of July the Queen City Way
How will you be enjoying July 4th this year?
Who does it best? We do. And to celebrate our country’s independence here are some things you can do on Thursday, July 4th. (Some are free and some cost a little but hey, it’s for America)
Belmont’s 4th of July Celebration: Held in downtown Belmont on Thursday, July 4th, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Festivities include rides, face painting, balloon twisting, Uncle Sam on stilts, a pie eating contest, a parade of patriotic pups, and a parade of patriotic delight. Some activities are for purchase at this event.
SkyShow at BB&T Ballpark: SkyShow Fireworks Spectacular follows the July 4th 7:05 p.m. baseball game between the Charlotte Knights and the Norfolk Tides. (Sold OUT)
4th of July Festival at US National Whitewater Center: Thursday, July 4th, 2019 and includes live music followed by a fireworks display each night. Admission is free but parking will cost you $6.
Annual Hickory Grove Parade and Celebration: Thursday, July 4th, 2019. The parade starts at Lawrence Orr Elementary School, 4853 Shamrock Drive, and follows Shamrock Drive to Castlerock Drive.
4th of July Celebration at Charlotte Museum of History: This event includes a naturalization ceremony for new citizens, crafts, a lecture, and the ringing of the American Freedom Bell. 3500 Shamrock Drive, Thursday, July 4th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is FREE!
