Hudson Boulevard in Gastonia has already become a haven for multi-family housing in the past two decades.

On Tuesday, June 18th, 2019, city leaders will consider a new plan that calls for the construction of a new apartment complex.

Gastonia City Council members will hold a public hearing to discuss the possibility of building an 80-unit residential development built across from Hudson Boulevard’s intersection with Efird Street.

The project has been selected to receive an allocation of North Carolina Housing Finance Authority Low Income Housing tax credits so that the privately owned complex would cater to those in need of affordable housing. Sixty of the apartments would have rates of rent in the range of $600 to $800, while the other twenty would be rented for a monthly rate of around $400.
