Waking up constantly at night is a serious pain. Many people have trouble getting a good night's sleep, and it can really mess up your day.
As someone who has always had trouble with getting good sleep, I can say the struggle is real.
I am either completely awake or in a dead sleep. Waking up and going to sleep is a serious struggle of mine. I take Melatonin on nights when I need to guarantee I'll get some sleep. I try not to use it every night and sometimes when I take it, I end up having dreams most of the night. For some people it doesn't work, but for others, like me, it's a life saver.
I do wake up during the night though, I usually fall asleep fast enough, I don't remember every instance. I do know the struggle where you just wake up, thinking about all the things that stress you out, all the things you have to do tomorrow, all the reasons you question every choice you've ever made. You know...the usual.
Sometimes it's so hard to get your brain to shut up long enough for you to just relax. You just want your consciousness to just fade into the abyss and deal with your thoughts when the sun is actually up. It's such an awful feeling looking over at the clock seeing 3:00 AM when you have to be up at 7 AM.
Don't even get me started on being night person, which makes the task of going to sleep so easy and wonderful. All you morning people...congratulations...you have an advantage in life.
Now, if you've gotten to the point where you lack so much sleep, you can barely function...a doctor's visit should be in your near future.
