Well, according to producers, a beach is a beach.

Netflix has greenlit "Outer Banks" for 10 episodes that will be released in 2020. The show will be about a tight-knit group of teens from the "wrong side of the tracks" that embark on a mission to find their ringleaders missing father. The father went missing while trying to salvage a sunken ship. The teens will stop at nothing to find the father, and they uncover a treasure map that leads them on an unforgettable summer.

In May, the show filmed in Charleston South Carolina. Originally planned to film in the Wilmington area, the producers didn't feel it was in their best interest to film in North Carolina due to their HB2 laws. They will recreate the Outer Banks area with Charleston as their set.

Netflix snagged cast members from the TV Show "Nashville", the movie "Love, Simon" and more to star in this new thrilling series.
