Ladies, you might not be a fan of that scruff after hearing this.

Everyone freaks out when there is dog fur everywhere...but some people love a man with facial hair. Well, a new study sampled men's beards and found that there are more harmful bacteria in a man's beard than in dog fur.

The study's original intention was to understand whether humans could contract dog-borne diseases. The researchers took swabs from the scruff of 18 fellas and the necks of 30 canines of various breeds. They found that all of the bearded men had high microbial counts while only 23 of the 30 dogs showed similarly high microbial presence.

Seven of the men tested positive for bacteria that posed a threat to human health.
