Didn't see this one coming!

For over 70 years, Hall Family Farm has been family owned and operated. It has drawn families from all over the Queen city area in for fun seasonal activities like, pick-your-own strawberries in the spring, pick your own pumpkins in the fall, corn mazes, hayrides, and more.

Well the long-time farm will be closing their doors as the 11-acre property was just sold to Novant health for a hefty 21 million.

Novant will be building a 161,000-square-foot medical center with 36 beds, 2 operating rooms, and a dedicated c-section operating room. If all goes according to plan, the hospital would open in 2023.

But don't worry! You still have 1 more year to enjoy the farm. Hall Family Farm has leased the property back from Novant for this year, and they plan to have a normal strawberry and pumpkin season. Construction on the hospital is set to begin after the Fall season.

And it's also not the end for Hall Family Farm. After this year, the farm will move to Lancaster, South Carolina.
