You’ll definitely want to read this is you’re planning on flying…
Airlines for America(A4A) is projecting a record holiday in terms of passenger traffic.
How many people will be traveling, you might be wondering?
A4A projects a record 30.6 million passengers will travel on U.S. airlines during a 12-day window around Thanksgiving. That’s up from an estimated 29 million passengers that flew during the comparable period last year. That “travel period” spans November 16th through November 27th.
They are expecting the busiest day of travel to be Sunday, November 25th, and the second busiest day will be Wednesday, November 21st (you know, the days you probably have booked to travel…)
So what does that mean for you if you are traveling?
Well, you should allow yourself extra time to accommodate for traffic in and around the Charlotte airport (I once got stuck in line for an hour trying to pick up my step-brother from the airport on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving), and also allow yourself extra time to get through security check points inside, as there will surely be lines.
