As Hurricane Michael continues to travel inland, several school districts in the Carolinas have made the decision to cancel classes tomorrow.

The storm struck the Florida panhandle this afternoon, and with a strong storm surge and 155 mile per hour winds, it left a trail of destruction behind.

According to CNN, Hurricane Michael is now a Category 3 storm, with winds dropping to 125 miles per hour.

The storm is expected to arrive in the Carolinas tomorrow morning, and as a result, several school districts have decided to close due.

We should expect the worst part of the storm to hit between 6 to 9 a.m.

Currently, Union County, York District 1, Rock Hill, Richmond, Anson, Chesterfield, and Lancaster, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools have canceled classes for Thursday, October 11.

CMS had initially hesitated to cancel classes, but the decision to close school was just announced.
