We know being a parent can be tough and exhausting.  Here are some simple methods to help ensure your child's safety!

As a parent, you deal with a lot on a day-to-day basis, so it's not uncommon to forget about something during your morning madness.  Unfortunately, some parents know the damage one minor oversight can cause.  While there is continued support for parents who have accidentally left their child in a hot car, there are also a few tips to help make sure no parent has to deal with the tragedy of losing their child this way.

Some of these ideas have been around for a few years on social media, and while some people may bypass these tips, they could end up saving a child's life.  One method to ensure you don't leave your child in their car seat consists of taking off your left shoe after buckling your child into the car seat.  After removing your shoe, leave it in the back next to the car seat as you drive. No one walks around with one shoe on all day so you won't get too far without forgetting it! Even driving with one shoe on and one shoe off feels a little unusual, so it betters your chances of remembering your precious cargo.

Another method is leaving an important personal item in the backseat as you drive.  For example, your cell phone, wallet, purse, etc.  Odds are, you wouldn't go about your day without something you need, so again it betters your chances of remembering.  There have been instances where parents also use a stuffed animal by keeping it in the car seat when the child is not in it, and in the passenger seat when the child is in it.

Remember, things happen and we are only human. These ideas are simply to help limit these tragedies and to help you remember your little one in the back seat!
