#StopSucking

It's a tale as old as time: plastic is bad for our oceans. Our oceans are becoming a dump with all of the trash that is ending up there, the majority being plastic items. What you might not know is that plastic straws are one of the top ten items found in the ocean. Something so small often gets missed, which ends up mistaken as food by sea animals. If a sea animal ingests plastic, they then face a 50% mortality rate.

So yeah, plain and simple...plastic is bad.

What can we do about it? #StopSucking ! No, seriously...that's what we can do about it.

Starbucks has already started the initiative and now Disney is following their lead. The Walt Disney company has announced plans to eliminate single-use plastic straws and plastic stirrers at all of their properties worldwide by mid-2019. That will translate to the elimination of more than 175 million straws and 13 million stirrers annually, which will have a huge impact on the environment!

Something small that we all can do to help save our oceans is say no to straws!
