Indeed, that is a lot of tomatoes at 100 Garden's 2018 Homegrown Tomato Festival.

100 Garden's is having their Homegrown Tomato festival once again this year. The festival is a place where you can try dozens of varieties of local homegrown tomatoes, buy locally grown tomatoes, crown the best tomato grower, eat tomato sandwiches, and enjoy live music. The event is on July 28th from 1-5pm at NoDa brewing in Charlotte, NC. To learn more click here.

The festival isn't without a cause though. The proceeds made from the festival go to 100 Gardens, which is a non-profit multi-faceted educational program that is focused on aquaponics as a platform for experiential learning and a sustainable means of food production for the future. Aquaponics is the integration of aquaculture and hydroponic. This produces fish and plants, recycles water, and serves to teach hands-on learning of a multitude of academic skills such as, science, math, and engineering. To learn more click here.
