America will be celebrating it's independence tomorrow, but with the way the political climate currently is, are people just celebrating to celebrate a day off? Or are they truly proud of their country? A new poll shows that it depends on who and what you ask.
You know we love our polls.
A new "USA Today" poll found that 90% of Republicans and 61% of Democrats are proud to be Americans. That doesn't mean they are proud of their actual country though. In fact, 71% of Republicans are currently proud of America, and only 22% of Democrats say the same.
As if you couldn't guess this already. politics are affecting the majority of people's opinion of the country. When asked what symbolizes the worst of America, "politicians" was the overwhelming top choice, and that's true for both political parties.
The poll also found that nurses and school teachers are the most highly regarded professions in America! The most highly regarded value is kindness to strangers.
With that being said...cheers to our nurses and our teachers, and be kind this week to a stranger :)
