April Johnson, an art teacher at Tuckaseegee Elementary School, has been named CMS teacher of the year for 2018.

Johnson received the award: which included $1,500, a one-year lease on a new car, and classroom supplies, on May 9 at Butler High School. She attended Winston-Salem State University where she went on to earn a degree in arts education, it wasn't until 2016 that she joined CMS.
