If there are two things that stick out about The Maney, Roy & LauRen Morning Show it’s that they are local and authentic. Those exact two reasons are why we love this artist so much, and if you haven’t heard her name before…you better go ahead and learn it.
Anna Clendening. Remember the name! You’ve probably already heard the name, so let us refresh your memory. Remember Vine, the app? Well, it was an awesome platform for some major names right now. Like… Shawn Mendes, Nash Grier, Cameron Dallas, Jack & Jack, and yep…you guessed it: Anna Clendening.
Anna is a 24-year-old from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and attended UNCC right here in Charlotte.
When Vine was in it’s prime, Anna was the reason for a lot of your laughs on the app.
Take a look and see if you remember any of these viral vines.
Just like all the other big names we mentioned, Vine was just the beginning. In 2014, Anna auditioned for America’s Got Talent with a beautiful version of “Hallelujah.”
It was during her audition that we learned Anna had more to share than her voice. She had her story, which turns out to be just as powerful. Anna revealed that she suffers from anxiety and depression disorder.
That hasn’t stopped her from sharing her voice and her story though. In fact, over the years it has seemed to fuel her.
With over half a million followers on Instagram, Anna Clendening has used her story to help and educate others. In an interview with Refinery29 she talked about what it was like sharing her story with her followers, “It’s absolutely wonderful because the people that reach out to you and the people that you connect with…it is a feeling I can’t describe. Like the first time someone reached out to me with like, ‘I have anxiety and I have emetophobia too, I thought I was the only one!’ That is such a great feeling to be able to connect with someone.”
Anna Clendening is now living in Los Angeles and has just released the official music video for her new single, Boys Like You.
Having trouble getting the song out of your head now? Yeah, us too! Like we said…Anna Clendening is not only local, genuine but extremely talented and we have a feeling she’s going to be a name you’ll want to remember!
