A Message From McDonald’s Employees

NEW YORK, NY – APRIL 15: A McDonald’s sign is wiewed as low wage workers, many in the fast-food industry, join with supporters in front of the store to demand a minimum wage of $15 an hour on April 15, 2015 in New York City. In what organizers are calling the biggest ever mobilization of workers in the U.S., thousands of people took to the streets across the country to stage protests in front of businesses that are paying some of their workers the minimum wage. Home care workers, and employees at Walmart and fast food restaurants say that the current minimum is not a living wage. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

We can all agree that customer service isn't the easiest line of work to be in, but only an elite group know the true struggles of the fast-food industry. McDonald's workers have spoken out on some of the top things they wish customers would stop doing:
- ordering from a "secret" menu when one does not exist.. (that means leave what you read on twitter at the door.)
- Making your order too complicated.. (what warrants too complicated? Regardless, you're probably guilty.)
- Trying to hack the system to get fresh fries by asking for them with no salt.. (is it still annoying if it's medically necessary to limit sodium intake and not about the "freshness"?)
- ordering from the drive-thru with a noisy car... (so basically everyone at some point between the ages of 15-27.)
- Hanging out by the register after you've ordered.. (they are done with you, NEXT.)
- Dumping change on the counter.. (wait, people still carry loose change?!)
- Acting condescending toward employees.. (isn't this standard across the board with any profession?)
- Leaving a mess.. (McClean up after yourselves!)
- Not thinking through your order prior.. (don't act like you weren't planning on ordering what you always do *eyeroll*.)
- Cutting the line in the drive thru.. (ok come on how does this even happen?)
- Failing to control your children.. (finally, one we can ALL agree on!)
If you plan on hitting McDonald's for lunch, do the employees a favor and don't do any of these things listed above. Unless the ice cream machine is broken again, then go ahead and react accordingly!
