The news comes after the child's mother reported seeing a monkey take her infant.
The body of the infant was found in a well.
According to Straits Times, the baby was asleep under a mosquito net at the time the abduction occurred.
In recent years, monkey's have become a growing problem in India, even shutting down schools due to frequent monkey sightings and attacks.
It is believed the monkey dropped the baby in the well shortly after snatching the baby, as there were no visible marks on the child.
An autopsy revealed the child drowned.
