People have been shifting toward some more minimally-invasive procedures in the plastic surgery industry. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has had a 200 percent increase in Botox, chemical peels, and fillers.
The total number of procedures is still on the rise, with the amount being performed in 2017 was up 2% from the previous year. But here is the ASPS's Top 5 most popular procedures in the U.S.
- Breast Augmentation: There were 300,378 breast augmentations in 2017 which involved lifting. But there was also an 11% spike in breast reduction surgeries.
- Liposuction: There were 246,354 liposuction procedures in 2017.
- Rhinoplasty: 218,924 rhinoplasties, or for those of us who don't know what this is, its a nose-job.
- Eyelid Surgery: Roughly the same each year.
- Tummy Tuck: There was a 2 percent increase in tummy tucks from 2016 to 2017.
