It's very important to know the difference between a therapist and a life coach. It's important so you know what you need.
The main difference is that life coaches are all about the present and future, while therapists are checking out the implications of your past. As Life coach Ryann Pitcavage sees it: “We don’t really grow in our comfort zones.” In other words, the main thing you can learn from a life coach is how to switch up your routine so you don’t get stuck in the same patterns over and over again. You really want to push yourself to open up to new experiences.
When you’re getting out there and doing things that make you a little uncomfortable, you’re learning about yourself the whole way. A life coach can help you get there!
