Our Carolina Panthers took the field yesterday for the last time under ownership of Jerry Richardson at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

It was confirmed earlier on in the season that Richardson will give up ownership of the Carolina Panthers after this season. Richardson, 81, is under investigation for workplace misconduct. According to a SI article that was published last month, it was said that Richardson paid off at least four former employees to keep quiet allegations of sexual harassment and the use of a racial slur to a former scout.

Despite those allegations, several Panther players have showed support of Richardson and gave hopes of wanting to send him off with a Super Bowl Title.

After those hopes came to an end last night, Richardson visited with the players to say thank you.

Many were emotional, including our very own beloved Luke Kuechly.

Forbes valued the Panthers at $2.3 billion.
