The debate about whether or not cell phone usage causes health issues has been ongoing for years. Now, a new warning could make you reconsider where you put your phone at night.

Scientists believe the radio frequency your cell phone emits may have a negative effect on your health.

An article published on the Fox 8 website reveals a warning from the California Department of Public Health.

According to the report, people who place their cell phone on their bed or on their nightstand before they go to sleep could be more likely to be diagnosed with cancer, among other health ailments.

The health department released several guidelines aimed at helping people to minimize their risk, such as keeping your cellular device as far away from your body as possible, minimizing usage when you are out of range, limiting streaming activities, and more.
