JOHNSTON, IL – AUGUST 21: Traffic is backed up in the northbound lanes of Interstate 57 following the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 near Johnston, Illinois. With approximately 2 minutes 40 seconds of totality the area in Southern Illinois experienced the longest duration of totality during the eclipse. Millions of people watched the eclipse as it cut a path of totality 70 miles wide across the United States from Oregon to South Carolina on August 21. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)

Can you believe Thanksgiving is already upon us? For many people, that means packing up their bags and traveling to see loved ones.

According to AAA, nearly 49 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more between Wednesday and Sunday.

Luckily for us, the navigation app, Waze, has compiled data from previous years, and found the best, and worst times to travel over the long holiday weekend!

Waze advises against driving to or from home Wednesday (from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and all-day Sunday (when traffic jams are most likely to occur). The app does predict the roads to be pretty clear on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the following Saturday.

Whether you get stuck in traffic or not, travel safe this holiday season!

Okay, so Mexican food is my personal favorite, but I’m not saying no if you’re trying to eat out on the town anywhere. I I am on air for middays but also the Program Director for Kiss 95.1. I enjoy connecting with Kiss 95.1’s amazing listeners and being able to bring all of my favorite things like food, wine, and life online into digital content.
