Well, that's because it is!
Last Halloween, people were swapping pumpkins for pineapples to make jack-o’-lanterns, but this year one of Pinterest's hottest Christmas trends is pineapple Christmas trees. Searches for them are up more than 3,406% from last year and there are a few different ways you can get in on this trend.
With some miniature ornament, you can decorate a real pineapple into a festive Christmas tree and give it something to do while it waits to be served at Christmas brunch. They make a great alternative to a full-size tree if you live in a small space.
Or you could make a pineapple Christmas tree that’s actually big enough to put real presents under. A yellow faux tree can be turned into a pineapple by adding a leafy topper, black tinsel and ornaments for a tropical take on the holidays.
