The city has also achieved a better than expected 77 percent diversion from landfill goal that was set at 75 percent by 2010, the nation's highest for any city.

If you drop or lose your phone somewhere, your immediate instinct is obviously to start looking for it relentlessly, as phones are expensive and serve as vital tools for communication and planning. In the case of one man, however, his search led him to some dire circumstances! Firefighters had to rescue the man, who fell into his building’s trash chute while looking for his dropped phone at 3 a.m. on Sunday. The man was released after responders found no evidence of serious injury, putting an end to this bizarre tale.
