According to a report by the National Retail Federation, people have apparently spent a staggering $15.5 billion on gifts for dads across the United States, edging the previous record by a whopping $1.2 billion! Dads across the country must be stoked about this! With 77% of the population celebrating the annual holiday, a quick number crunch tabs the amount of money spent per dad at around $137. Here's a look at the statistics of what people ended up treating all the lucky dads to:
- 46% bought their dads clothing
- 43% picked up a gift card
- 21% invested in electronics
- 21% got him some personal care products, such as cologne
- 16% shelled out for home improvement supplies
No matter what dads are getting, be it a ticket to a concert or even just a greeting card, all that matters is that what they receive is a gift from the heart!
