Like most American children, chances are you probably grew up drinking a lot of chocolate milk -- and loved every sip of it!

But, did you ever wonder where chocolate milk comes from? If you asked your parents this question, they may have told you chocolate milk comes from brown cows.

Of course, as a child, how would you know that this wasn't the truth?

Fast-forward to today, and if you have children, you've probably purchased your fair share of chocolate milk. Or, perhaps you've made chocolate milk with chocolate syrup and white milk. Either way, by now you should have realized that chocolate milk does not actually come from brown cows.

With that being said, it appears as though some adults have not figured out (yet) that chocolate milk does not come from brown cows. An article published in METRO, discusses a recent study conducted by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy. The study found that seven percent of the adults questioned still believed that chocolate milk is produced by brown cows.

If that's not enough to make you scratch your head, here's another fact from the study that is baffling. Of the people questioned, 48 percent said they were unsure where chocolate milk came from.

Really?

How is it possible we as a society are so confused over chocolate milk?
